From TNNMC to KNMC
TNNMC has a separate online NOC portal with Request NOC and Surrender NOC options. Renewal of TNNMC registration is linked to CNE credit hours.
For Kerala, you apply to KNMC under Reciprocal Registration (Outside Kerala) on knmc.org. Renewal of your TNNMC registration is not mandatory before the NOC. The NOC goes directly to KNMC, and you get a copy by email. Your TNNMC registration is surrendered.
Who can apply
Nurses and midwives registered with a state nursing council outside Kerala: BSc Nursing, GNM, ANM or an additional qualification.
The INC suitability certificate: in February 2026 the Kerala High Court held that the state council cannot insist on an Indian Nursing Council suitability certificate for inter-state registration. In February 2025 the Karnataka High Court directed KNMC to register Karnataka BSc graduates without an INC certificate.

How the application works
On knmc.org, applicants read the General Instructions first and then apply online.
Step 1: Apply online on knmc.org
YouChoose Reciprocal Registration (Outside Kerala) and your course (BSc Nursing, GNM/ANM or an additional qualification), fill in the form and keep the application number.
Step 2: Pay and send the application
YouPay the KNMC fee online and send the printed application with your documents (the list is below).
Step 3: NOC from your current council
Authority / TruewayRequest the NOC on the TNNMC NOC portal. It goes directly to KNMC, and you get a copy by email.
Step 4: Surrender your old registration
YouOnce the NOC is issued, you surrender your original registration certificate to that council, then send KNMC a copy of the surrendered certificate with a request letter.
Step 5: KNMC registration
AuthorityAfter its final verification, KNMC sends your original Kerala registration certificate by post, usually about 45 working days after you apply.
