Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about the NCLEX-RN and our coaching.
What is the NCLEX-RN?
It is the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses, run by NCSBN and delivered by Pearson VUE. US state boards of nursing use it to licence registered nurses, and Canadian nursing regulators use it too.
How many questions are in the NCLEX-RN?
It is a computerised adaptive test of 85 to 150 items, with up to 5 hours including breaks. The number of items you get depends on your answers. The Next Generation NCLEX includes case studies that test clinical judgement.
What is the NCLEX-RN exam fee?
NCSBN's candidate bulletin lists a registration fee, plus an international scheduling fee and VAT when you test outside the US. Your board and the credentials evaluation have their own fees. We confirm the current fees, and our coaching fee, on WhatsApp.
Is there an NCLEX exam centre in Kerala?
NCSBN's international test centre list of March 2024 names Pearson VUE centres in 15 Indian cities, including Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, but none in Kerala. Check the current list when you schedule.
Can GNM nurses from India apply for the NCLEX?
Each board sets its own eligibility, and many ask for a credentials evaluation of your nursing education. Whether a GNM diploma is accepted depends on the board and the evaluation. Check your board before you apply.
How soon can I retake the NCLEX-RN?
NCSBN allows up to 8 attempts a year, at least 45 days apart. Some boards allow fewer.
When do I get my NCLEX result?
Your board sends your result, usually about 6 weeks after the exam. In participating states you can pay for quick results 2 business days after the exam.
Do I need OET or IELTS for the NCLEX?
Some boards ask for an English test. For the US work visa, VisaScreen asks for an English test score, and OET and IELTS are among the accepted tests. We coach both.
Is the coaching online?
Yes. The coaching is online, so you can join from anywhere in India or the Gulf.
Do you help with the NCLEX booking?
Yes. Once your board makes you eligible and you have your Authorization to Test, we help you book your Pearson VUE slot.

Is Trueway part of NCSBN or a board of nursing?
No. Trueway is an independent exam-preparation provider and is not affiliated with NCSBN, any nursing regulatory body, Pearson VUE or TruMerit (CGFNS).
