PEBC Document Evaluation, Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada

PEBC Document Evaluation for Indian Pharmacists

The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) starts every international pharmacy graduate with a Document Evaluation. Your university sends your transcript directly to PEBC, and every authority that licensed you sends a licensing statement. We take both requests to your university and your state pharmacy council, follow them up and keep you updated on WhatsApp.

  • University and pharmacy council
  • Fee confirmed before you start
  • Updates on WhatsApp

Who needs a PEBC Document Evaluation?

Pharmacists with an Indian pharmacy degree who want to practise in Canada.

  • Pharmacists going to Canada

Document Evaluation is the first step of PEBC's pathway, before the Qualifying Exam Part I (MCQ) and Part II (OSCE).

  • Express Entry as a pharmacist

PEBC issues an ECA for Express Entry principal applicants whose main occupation is pharmacist, only after a successful Document Evaluation.

  • Pharmacists registered in India

If you have ever been licensed, every licensing authority sends PEBC a licensing statement.

How we handle it

Who does what, from your first message to the Document Evaluation.

  1. Step 1: Tell us your degree and council

    You

The pharmacy degree, the university, and every pharmacy council or authority that has licensed you.

  2. Step 2: We send your checklist and the fee

    Trueway

On WhatsApp, for your university and your council. You decide after you have seen them.

  3. Step 3: We take the request to your university

    Trueway

PEBC needs a transcript issued within one month of the date it receives it, so we plan the request with you.

  4. Step 4: We take the request to your pharmacy council

    Trueway

For a licensing statement. PEBC rejects a registration certificate sent in its place.

  5. Step 5: The university and the council send them to PEBC

    Authority

Directly, not with your application. We follow them up and update you on WhatsApp.

  6. Step 6: PEBC evaluates it

    Authority

PEBC acknowledges your hard copy within 6 weeks, then takes up to 8 weeks.

What PEBC needs, and who sends it

From PEBC's page on applying for Document Evaluation.

  1. Step 1: You send the application

Printed and witnessed, with a photo, a certified copy of your passport and a statutory declaration.

  2. Step 2: Your university sends the transcript

Directly to PEBC by courier or email, issued within one month of the date PEBC receives it.

  3. Step 3: Each licensing authority sends a statement

That you are currently licensed, and whether you are in good standing. It expires 6 months after it is issued.

  4. Step 4: PEBC evaluates it

Up to 8 weeks after PEBC acknowledges your application. A Document Evaluation is valid for 5 years.

Trueway handles steps 2 and 3 for you: we take your requests to the university and to your state pharmacy council, and follow them up until each is sent to PEBC. You send the application to PEBC yourself.

Rules that matter

  • A statement, not your certificate

PEBC needs a licensing statement from each authority. A registration certificate sent instead is rejected.

  • Recent documents

The transcript must be issued within one month of the date PEBC receives it. A licensing statement expires 6 months after it is issued.

  • Every licensing authority

PEBC does not name Indian councils. For most Indian pharmacists the authority is the state pharmacy council you registered with, plus any other council or country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about the PEBC Document Evaluation.

Who sends the licensing statement for an Indian pharmacist?

PEBC asks for a statement from every licensing authority you have been licensed by, sent directly to PEBC. It does not name Indian councils: for most Indian pharmacists that is the state pharmacy council you registered with, such as the [Kerala Pharmacy Council](/good-standing/kerala-pharmacy-council).

Can I send my pharmacy council registration certificate instead?

No. PEBC rejects registration documents sent in place of a licensing statement. The statement says that you are currently licensed and whether you are in good standing.

Can my college send the transcript to PEBC?

Yes. PEBC accepts a transcript sent directly by your university or by your affiliated college, by courier or email, issued within one month of the date PEBC receives it.

Can I enclose the transcript with my application?

No. PEBC does not accept transcripts or licensing statements enclosed with your own application. Each is sent directly by the university or the authority.

How long does the PEBC Document Evaluation take?

PEBC acknowledges your hard copy within 6 weeks, then takes up to 8 weeks. The evaluation is valid for 5 years, and the application expires if the documents do not arrive within 2 years of payment.

How long does a PEBC verification take?

It depends on your university and your council. We tell you the expected time for your case before you start, and send updates on WhatsApp.

What does a PEBC verification cost?

Connect with the Trueway team on WhatsApp. The fee depends on your university and your council, and we confirm it before you decide.
