The MOH UAE exam is MOHAP's licensing exam at Prometric centres. The pass mark is 60% and the result is Pass or Fail. You get three attempts, and a cancelled or missed booking counts as one. Passing, or an exemption, gives the evaluation certificate, valid five years without a gap.
The MOH UAE exam is the licensing exam of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). Passing it, or being exempt, gives you MOHAP's evaluation certificate, the step before a licence with a MOHAP-licensed employer. This guide covers who sits it, the pass mark, the attempts and the steps.

What is the MOH UAE exam?
It is a computer-based exam at Prometric test centres, for your professional title. MOHAP says it assesses your competency in your specialty. Dubai has its own exam with DHA, Abu Dhabi with DOH, and Sharjah has its own authority, SHA. All of them follow the same qualification rules, the Unified PQR.
MOHAP does not publish the number of questions or the duration.
Who has to take it
MOHAP's evaluation officer decides, after reviewing your application, whether you need the exam. The exemption rules are those of the Unified PQR: for example, a valid licence for the same title from another UAE authority, as long as you have not used up your attempts.
General practitioners and dentists need at least two years of clinical experience after the internship.
Pass mark and results
- The pass mark is 60%.
- The result is shown as Pass or Fail. MOHAP says the results are processed automatically, without human intervention.
- Individual questions and answers are not disclosed.
Attempts
- Three attempts at most. A fourth attempt is not allowed with MOHAP; you may apply for the exam through another health authority.
- Prometric also allows three attempts to schedule an MOH exam, and counts a cancelled or missed appointment as one of the three. Book only a date you are sure of.
From evaluation to licence: the steps
Apply for evaluation
On MOHAP's website or app: fill in the evaluation request, upload the documents and pay the service fee.
Dataflow
MOHAP sends a link to pay for the Dataflow verification. The report has to be positive.
The exam, if MOHAP asks for it
At a Prometric centre. Pass or Fail.
The evaluation certificate
Issued when you pass, or when you are exempt. It is valid for 5 years, as long as there is no gap in your experience.
Your licence
A MOHAP-licensed employer applies for your licence.
A gap in practice: MOHAP's own page says no more than two years; the Unified PQR of 2025 says three. If your gap is between two and three years, ask us to check it before you apply.
Booking and rescheduling
You book on Prometric's site once MOHAP has approved you for the exam. MOHAP does not publish a deadline for rescheduling, and a cancelled booking counts as one of your three scheduling attempts. See how to reschedule a Prometric exam.
Frequently asked questions
What is the pass mark for the MOH UAE exam?
60%. The result is shown as Pass or Fail.
How many times can I take the MOH exam?
Three times. A fourth attempt is not allowed with MOHAP, but you can apply through another UAE health authority.
Does MOHAP give a syllabus or books?
No. MOHAP says it gives no specific study references, and advises candidates to focus on fundamental concepts, standard clinical practice and core competencies.
How long is the MOHAP evaluation certificate valid?
Five years, as long as there is no gap in your experience.
Do I need Dataflow for MOH UAE?
Yes. MOHAP sends a link to pay for it after your evaluation request, and the report has to be positive.
Is the MOH UAE exam the same as the DHA exam?
No. DHA (Dubai), DOH (Abu Dhabi) and MOHAP each have their own exam. A valid licence from one can exempt you from another's exam.
