Attestation services in Trivandrum

Kerala-issued documents

Most documents we attest in Trivandrum were issued in Kerala. The Kerala Home Department's own rules decide the first steps.

Birth, marriage and other personal documents

  • The Kerala Home Department attests only certificates issued by government institutions and authorities in Kerala.
  • A notary attests the certificate first. See notary attestation.
  • We check your documents, arrange the notary, take them through the Home Department, and then on to the MEA apostille or the embassy.
  • A marriage certificate has to state where the marriage took place. For a marriage after 1 March 2008, the certificate is the one issued under the Kerala Registration of Common Marriage Rules. See marriage certificate attestation.
  • The attestation wing is on the southern side of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. It takes applications on working days from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and returns documents after 3 p.m.

Experience certificates from private institutions

A certificate from a private institution registered in Kerala is countersigned by the district authority after the notary and before the Home Department: the District Medical Officer for a private hospital, the District Education Officer for a private educational institution, a District Officer for an institution under the Labour Department.
