WES accepts a consolidated transcript or every year's mark sheets from the university, in a sealed envelope, with a copy of the degree. UK ENIC takes uploads from the awarding university. NMBI wants the transcript with clock hours, given to you and uploaded as a certified copy.
A transcript is the university's formal record of every subject and mark in your course. WES, UK ENIC, the NMBI and similar bodies ask for one before they evaluate an Indian degree. Each wants it in a different way. This guide sets out what each asks for, and how Kerala's universities issue transcripts.

Transcript or mark sheets?
In India, a transcript is usually a single document from the university listing every year's marks, under its seal. UK ENIC treats transcripts and mark sheets as the same thing: the record of all subjects and grades, signed and dated by the institution. WES accepts either a consolidated transcript or the yearly mark sheets.
What WES asks for
- A consolidated transcript, or the mark sheets of every year, issued by the university that awards the degree.
- Sent to WES in a sealed envelope. If you studied in India you may send the sealed envelope yourself, as long as it is signed or stamped by the issuing body.
- A copy of your degree certificate or provisional certificate.
- For most master's degrees, your bachelor's documents too.
- No original documents, and nothing by email.
Some universities can send records to WES electronically, and WES also accepts records through the NSDC digital wallet. WES starts its evaluation only once every required document has arrived.

How to apply at Kerala universities
- University of Kerala: transcripts are applied for on the university's online applications portal.
- Mahatma Gandhi University: an online application with copies of your SSLC and all mark sheets. Students of autonomous colleges apply offline with the transcript from the college. MG University also completes verification forms such as the WES form and sends the documents in a sealed cover to the address you give.
- University of Calicut: the transcript can be sent to a verification agency or institute, or to you, by post or electronically. You attach self-attested copies of all mark lists and the original degree certificate.
- Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS): the form goes to the Controller of Examinations, with self-attested copies of all mark lists and the provisional or degree certificate.

- Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka: a prescribed form on the university's website.
- Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh: for MBBS, copies of the marks memos of every year, including failed ones; the university says at least 10 working days.

A transcript from the college instead of the university
UK ENIC accepts documents only from the awarding institution, not an affiliated college.
