What the Indian part of the attestation looks like
Before the Embassy of Egypt, every document goes through the same Indian offices. This is a real certificate after them: the notary, the SDM and the MEA. The Embassy of Egypt then adds its own attestation; a sample with its stamp is not shown here yet.

Embassy attestation, not apostille
Egypt is not a party to the Apostille Convention. An apostille is not enough: the document needs the stamp of the Embassy of Egypt.
The MEA comes first
The Embassy of Egypt accepts a document only after the earlier steps: the state attestation and the attestation of the Ministry of External Affairs.
Two routes to the MEA
An educational certificate reaches the MEA through the HRD of its state, or through notary and SDM. A personal document goes through the Home Department or the SDM. We tell you which one fits your document.
