The Saudi Arabia exam

SMLE: 2 parts of 100 questions, 120 minutes each. Scaled pass score 560 (on a 200 to 800 scale). Classification exams have 40 to 300 questions over 1 to 7 hours, depending on the title. Your eligibility number is valid for 3 months from issue.

    The Saudi Prometric exam belongs to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), and you take it to work in Saudi Arabia. DHA, HAAD, MOH, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait each have their own exam.

What is the Saudi Prometric exam?

It is the licensing exam of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), conducted by Prometric. Doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals need to pass it to practise in Saudi Arabia.

Is the Saudi Prometric exam the same as the DHA, HAAD or MOH exam?

No. The Saudi Prometric exam is for Saudi Arabia. DHA is for Dubai, HAAD is for Abu Dhabi, and MOH, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait each have their own exam. Tell us if you are preparing for more than one.

Which professions do you coach for the Saudi Prometric exam?

Doctors (MBBS), nurses, pharmacists, dentists, anaesthesia technicians, dietitians and nutritionists, physiotherapists, radiographers and Ayurveda doctors (BAMS). Tell us your category if it is not on the list.

What does the Saudi coaching cover?

The subjects of your own profession. For nurses: nursing fundamentals, clinical procedures and patient care, nursing ethics and professional standards, with multiple-choice question practice. For doctors: key medical subjects and clinical topics, medical ethics, the exam pattern and question types. For pharmacists: pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, pharmacy law and pharmaceutical calculations.

Which exam do doctors take for Saudi Arabia?

SCFHS sets the exam by your title. The SMLE has 2 parts of 100 questions, 120 minutes each, with a scaled pass score of 560 on a 200 to 800 scale. Classification exams for other titles have 40 to 300 questions over 1 to 7 hours. We check which exam applies to you.

Can a diploma (GNM) nurse apply as a nurse specialist in Saudi Arabia?

Generally, no. SCFHS classifies nurses by qualification, not by experience alone: a recognised nursing diploma usually fits Nursing Technician, and Nursing Specialist normally needs an accredited BSc Nursing. A diploma nurse moves up by getting an eligible higher qualification and then applying for Professional Re-classification on Mumaris Plus. We check your classification before you apply.

How long is the Saudi exam eligibility valid?

3 months from when SCFHS issues your eligibility number, so book inside that window. A change of date is free 30 or more days before the exam; closer to the date Prometric charges for it, and at 15 days or less the fee is lost.

Which documents do I need for the exam registration?

A passport copy, educational certificates and transcripts, your professional licence or registration certificate, a recently issued Good Standing Certificate, a passport-size photo, an experience certificate and an internship certificate. Your exact list is confirmed after your enquiry.

What comes after the Saudi exam?

Dataflow verification of your degree, licence and experience. Several authorities also ask for a recent Good Standing Certificate and attested documents. Trueway can help with all three.

How long is the Saudi Arabia coaching?

The programme runs for 45 days, about six weeks. It has recorded video classes you can watch at any time, 3 to 4 live sessions a week with a tutor on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, topic-wise activities, mock tests and more than 1,500 practice questions.

Is the coaching online or in class?

Online. The recorded classes and the course material are in the Trueway app, and the live sessions run on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, so you can study from anywhere in India or the Gulf. Classroom batches at our branches have not started yet.

Is there a crash course?

Yes, for nurses. A crash course is offered next to the regular 45-day programme. Ask the team for the dates of the next one and what it covers.
