It is taken at Pearson VUE and is often still called the Oman Prometric exam. The Oman exam

General practitioners: 150 multiple-choice questions in 2 hours 45 minutes. Pass mark 60%. No maximum number of attempts. Results are emailed within 24 hours.

  5. Step 5: Readiness review, then the exam booking

    A final assessment before your Pearson VUE slot is booked. We help with the booking, and with rescheduling if you need it.

  6. Step 6: Pearson VUE conducts the exam

    The result is decided by the exam, not by Trueway. No coaching can promise a pass result.

  • The OMSB sets the syllabus

    The syllabus and the exam pattern come from the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), and Pearson VUE conducts the exam. It is separate from the exams of the other Gulf authorities.

  • Questions for your own profession

    The exam is in multiple-choice format. Nurses are asked about clinical knowledge and patient care, radiographers about radiographic procedures, anatomy, radiation safety and professional ethics.

What is the Oman (OMSB) exam?

It is the licensing exam that health professionals must pass to work in Oman. The syllabus and the exam pattern are set by the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), and Pearson VUE conducts the exam. You take it for your own profession: medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy or an allied health field.

Is the Oman exam a Prometric exam?

No. The Oman (OMSB) exam is a Pearson VUE exam. It is often still called the Oman Prometric exam, and our guides use that name too.

Which professions do you coach for the Oman exam?

Doctors (MBBS), nurses, pharmacists, dentists, anaesthesia technicians, dietitians and nutritionists, physiotherapists, radiographers and Ayurveda doctors (BAMS). Tell us your category if it is not on the list.

What does the Oman coaching cover?

The subjects of your own exam category. For doctors: key medical subjects and clinical topics, medical ethics, and the exam pattern and question types. For nurses: nursing fundamentals, clinical procedures and patient care, and nursing ethics and professional standards. For pharmacists: pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, pharmacy law and pharmaceutical calculations.

Can GNM nurses and nurses without experience take the Oman exam?

Yes, in our cases. GNM and BSc Nursing qualifications are accepted for Oman, and a nurse can take an exam date even without experience.

Do you help with the Oman exam booking?

Yes. We check your exam category before the exam is booked, help you create your Pearson VUE account and book the slot, and help you reschedule the exam if you need a new date.

Which documents do I need for the exam registration?

A passport copy, your educational certificates and transcripts, your professional licence or registration certificate, a recently issued Good Standing Certificate, a passport-size photo, your experience certificate and your internship certificate. Your exact list is confirmed after your enquiry.

What comes after the Oman exam?

The licence application. It needs your Oman Dataflow report, which verifies your degree, licence and experience, and a recent Good Standing Certificate. Tell us if either is still open: Trueway helps with both, and with any further documents the application asks for.

How long is the Oman coaching?

The programme runs for 45 days, about six weeks. It has recorded video classes you can watch at any time, 3 to 4 live sessions a week with a tutor on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, topic-wise activities, mock tests and more than 1,500 practice questions.

Is the coaching online or in class?

Online. The recorded classes and the course material are in the Trueway app, and the live sessions run on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, so you can study from anywhere in India or the Gulf. Classroom batches at our branches have not started yet.

Is there a crash course?

Yes, for nurses. A crash course is offered next to the regular 45-day programme. Ask the team for the dates of the next one and what it covers.

What does the Oman coaching cost?

Can coaching promise that I pass the exam?

No. The result is decided by the exam. Coaching gives you the syllabus, the practice and the mock tests; no coaching can promise a pass result.
