How to reschedule or cancel a Prometric exam for SCFHS, DHA, MOH UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain: the deadlines, when a fee applies and what a missed exam means.

Change it on Prometric's site. SCFHS: free 30 or more days before, a fee at 16 to 30 days, no refund at 15 days or less. DHA: at least five calendar days before, with a fee. MOH UAE: a cancelled or missed booking counts as one of three. Qatar: a fee at every stage.

Plans change: a joining date moves, a document is late, you fall ill. Whether you can move a Prometric exam, and what it costs you, depends on the health authority that owns the exam. This guide sets out the rules for each, and what happens if you miss the exam.

How to reschedule or cancel

Most Prometric appointments can be changed on Prometric's own site, with the confirmation number from your booking. Some authorities also allow it through Prometric's regional contact centres. If we booked your exam, tell us on WhatsApp and we make the change for you.

Two things decide what happens: how many days are left before the exam, and the authority's rule on attempts. The fee for a change, and the time allowed without one, vary by authority.

Saudi Arabia (SCFHS)

  • 30 calendar days or more before: reschedule without a fee.
  • 16 to 30 days before: a reschedule fee applies.
  • 15 days or less: a cancellation is not refunded.
  • After the exam has started: no change is possible.
  • If you do not come: for the Saudi licensing exams it counts as an attempt, unless SCFHS accepts a reason with documents.

Dubai (DHA)

  • Reschedule or cancel on Prometric's site at least five calendar days before the exam.
  • Prometric charges for the change. DHA's exam fees are not refunded, including for a reschedule, a cancellation or a no-show.
  • Missing a booked exam: in our cases, once an exam is booked, missing it without rescheduling counts as one attempt. If you cannot attend, reschedule before the deadline instead of missing it.

UAE Ministry of Health (MOHAP)

  • You get three attempts to schedule an MOH exam.
  • A cancelled appointment, or one you miss, counts as one of the three.
  • MOHAP does not publish a deadline for rescheduling. Change a date only when you must.

Qatar (DHP)

Qatar's circular DHP/2024/10 sets the rule:

  • 30 days or more before: a fee applies for cancelling or rescheduling.
  • 5 to 29 days before: a higher fee applies.
  • Less than 5 days before, not attending, or arriving more than 30 minutes late: the full exam fee is lost.

For questions, the DHP gives dhpregistration@moph.gov.qa.

Kuwait and Bahrain

Neither authority publishes a reschedule rule. When we book a Kuwait or Bahrain exam for you, a change of date is possible until 14 days before the exam.

Exams at Pearson VUE

  • DOH (Abu Dhabi): a computer-based exam can be rescheduled up to 72 hours before, without an additional fee.
  • OMSB (Oman): 48 hours or more before the exam.

If the test centre closes

Centres sometimes close for weather, power cuts or technical problems. Prometric says it contacts candidates within 48 to 72 hours if a centre closes unexpectedly. Watch your email and phone for messages about your appointment.

  • Waiting for the last week

Most fees and lost attempts come from late changes. Decide as early as you can.

  • Missing an MOH UAE exam

A missed MOH appointment counts as one of your three scheduling attempts.

  • Arriving late in Qatar

More than 30 minutes late counts like a missed exam: the full fee is lost.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reschedule my Prometric exam for free?

For a Saudi exam, yes, if you change it 30 calendar days or more before. For DHA, Prometric charges for any change. Qatar charges a fee at every stage.

What happens if I miss my Prometric exam?

In our cases, a booked exam that you miss without rescheduling counts as one attempt, for every authority. For MOH UAE it counts as one of your three scheduling attempts, and in Qatar the full fee is also lost. If you cannot attend, reschedule before the deadline instead of missing it.

How late can I reschedule a DHA exam?

At least five calendar days before the exam, on Prometric's site.

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

Usually not. SCFHS refunds nothing at 15 days or less, DHA's fees are non-refundable, and Qatar keeps the full fee under 5 days.

What if the Prometric centre is closed on my exam day?

Prometric says it contacts candidates within 48 to 72 hours when a centre closes unexpectedly. Watch your email and phone.
