MOHAP evaluates you first (UAE PASS, Dataflow, the Prometric exam if required, an evaluation certificate valid five years); then your employer applies for the licence. A missed exam booking counts as an attempt.

A UAE MOH licence, from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), lets a nurse work in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, and in federal government facilities in Sharjah. Private and Sharjah government facilities in Sharjah are licensed by SHA since 2025. This guide sets out MOHAP's steps.

The two stages

MOHAP separates the evaluation of the nurse from the licence. You get the evaluation certificate; your employer applies for the licence.

  1. Health professional evaluation

You apply on MOHAP's site or app with UAE PASS. MOHAP reviews the request within 5 working days.

  2. Dataflow

DataFlow verifies your documents. The report has to be positive.

  3. The MOH exam, if required

A Prometric exam. The result is pass or fail, with a pass mark of 60%.

  4. Evaluation certificate

MOHAP issues your evaluation (assessment) certificate. It is valid for 5 years.

  5. Licence, applied for by your employer

The facility applies with your evaluation certificate, your job offer and your employment contract.
