From DNC to KNMC
The Delhi Nursing Council's NOC procedure: you apply for the NOC online and send your original DNC registration certificate with the confirmation page. DNC sends the NOC letter directly to the receiving council and emails you a copy. DNC states fifteen to thirty days. (DNC NOC procedure)
For Kerala, you apply to KNMC under Reciprocal Registration (Outside Kerala) on knmc.org.
Who can apply
Nurses and midwives registered with a state nursing council outside Kerala: BSc Nursing, GNM, ANM or an additional qualification.
The INC suitability certificate: in February 2026 the Kerala High Court held that the state council cannot insist on an Indian Nursing Council suitability certificate for inter-state registration. In February 2025 the Karnataka High Court directed KNMC to register Karnataka BSc graduates without an INC certificate.

How the application works
On knmc.org, applicants read the General Instructions first and then apply online.
Step 1: Apply online on knmc.org
YouChoose Reciprocal Registration (Outside Kerala) and your course (BSc Nursing, GNM/ANM or an additional qualification), fill in the form and keep the application number.
Step 2: Pay and send the application
YouPay the KNMC fee online and send the printed application with your documents (the list is below).
Step 3: NOC from your current council
Authority / TruewayApply for the DNC NOC online and send your original DNC certificate; DNC sends the NOC to KNMC.
Step 4: Surrender your old registration
YouYour original DNC certificate already went with the NOC application. Send KNMC a copy of the surrendered certificate with a request letter.
Step 5: KNMC registration
AuthorityAfter its final verification, KNMC sends your original Kerala registration certificate by post, usually about 45 working days after you apply.

I am registered with KNMC and need to register in another state. How does that work?
