IQAS Alberta Assessment for Indian Degrees and Nursing Diplomas
IQAS, the Government of Alberta's International Qualifications Assessment Service, assesses your Indian education for Canadian immigration (the ECA), and separately for work, study and licensing. It takes your mark sheets only from the university or an autonomous college, or from the nursing council for a nursing diploma, in a sealed envelope. We get them issued, sealed and sent, and keep you updated on WhatsApp.

Who needs an IQAS assessment?
Anyone with an Indian degree or diploma who has chosen IQAS for Canada.
Express Entry and immigration
An IQAS ECA is for Canadian immigration. It is valid for Express Entry for 5 years from the date it was issued.
Nurses with a diploma
For a nursing or midwifery diploma, the nursing board or council can send your record to IQAS.
Work, study and licensing
Some regulators, universities and colleges use an IQAS assessment for work, study or licensing. That assessment cannot be used for immigration.

Step 1: Tell us your course and university

What IQAS needs, and who sends it

Step 1: You apply and upload
Your passport or ID, and a colour scan of every page of your degree or diploma, front and back.
Step 2: The issuer seals your mark sheets
The university or autonomous college; the nursing council for a nursing diploma; the state board for a technical diploma.
Step 3: The envelope reaches IQAS
Sent by the issuer, or posted by you, sealed and signed or stamped across the back flap.
Step 4: IQAS assesses it
About 15 business days from the status 'In line for processing', or 5 to 7 business days with a rush ECA.

University or autonomous college
IQAS accepts mark sheets, transcripts and result cards only from the degree-awarding university or an autonomous college. Not from an affiliated college.
Nursing diplomas
The nursing board or council, or you, send IQAS the record. The mark sheets must show the lecture and clinical hours.
Sealed and signed across the flap
IQAS accepts the envelope posted by you, if it is sealed and signed or stamped across the back flap.

Is an IQAS ECA accepted for Express Entry?
An IQAS ECA is for Canadian immigration, and IQAS says it is valid for Express Entry for 5 years from the date it was issued. An IQAS assessment for work, study or licensing cannot be used for immigration.
Can I post the sealed envelope to IQAS myself?
Yes. IQAS accepts the envelope from you if it is sealed and signed or stamped across the back flap by the university, college or council. We can collect it for you.

Are there special rules for some universities?
Yes. IQAS's list for India names some: Magadh University documents come attested through RTI, Sikkim Manipal University distance courses are not assessed, and I.K. Gujral PTU mark sheets must be posted online for verification. Tell us your university and we check.
