On TAMM: register, upload documents for Dataflow, get DOH's approval for the exam, book it at Pearson VUE, then the licence is activated for your employer. The result is PASS or FAIL; the exam step is valid six months.
A DOH licence lets a nurse work in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. DOH, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, was called HAAD, and many still call its exam the HAAD exam. Everything runs on the TAMM platform. This guide sets out the steps in order.

Register on TAMM
DOH's application starts on TAMM, with your ID number or UAE PASS. You can apply from India: in our cases, we activate your exam ID and book your Pearson VUE date and time from India. Ask us before you start.
Documents for Dataflow
You upload your documents for verification by DataFlow: your degree, registration and experience.
Approval for the exam
If you meet DOH's conditions, DOH approves your application for the exam. You pay the pre-booking fee in TAMM and are sent on to Pearson VUE to book.

The result shows on TAMM as PASS or FAIL. DOH does not publish a pass mark.
Licence activation
The licence is activated for your employer in Abu Dhabi (the HPACT transaction on TAMM).

A gap in practice of more than three years asks for CME credits and supervised training before the exam.
The exam
- Taken at Pearson VUE, not Prometric.
- The exam step is valid for 6 months (DOH Circular 151/2024).
- Three attempts across DOH, DHA and MOHAP; one last attempt may be granted with a different authority.

DHA accepts Dataflow reports transferred from DOH, SHA and MOHAP. If you may move between emirates later, keep your case number.

Frequently asked questions
Is HAAD the same as DOH?
Yes. The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) is now the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH).
Is the DOH exam a Prometric exam?
No. The DOH exam is taken at Pearson VUE, even though many people call it the HAAD Prometric exam.
Can a GNM nurse get a DOH licence?
As an Assistant Nurse, under the unified rules: a nursing diploma of at least 18 months qualifies for that title.
What is the pass mark of the DOH exam?
DOH does not publish one. The result is shown on TAMM as PASS or FAIL.
How long is the DOH exam step valid?
Six months, under DOH Circular 151/2024.
Can I apply for the DOH licence from India?
Yes. In our cases, we activate your exam ID and then book your preferred date and time with Pearson VUE, all from India.
What if I pass the DOH exam but have no job yet?
In our cases, the application closes if you do not find an employer within 90 days. We can then do the DOH (HAAD) eligibility again, which gives you another 90 days.
